This is a call to arms for all of you interested in submitting content for the December 30th (Almost) New Years Edition of Grand Rounds. The theme of this issue is ‘At the interface of evolution and medicine,’ in anticipation of 2009 – the bicentenary of Darwin’s birth and the 150th anniversary of the publication of ‘On the Origin of Species’. Here at moneduloides I regularly write on topics at the interface of evolution and medicine, and my hope is that collecting writing on this topic for such a well-respected medical blog carnival may create a resource for those interested, or potentially interested, in all the ways evolution influences medicine.
If you are a blogger who doesn’t normally write on topics outside of traditional medical blogging subject matter, then I urge you for this issue to step outside of your box. There are plenty of resources available with just a little searching (Update: The Lancet, for instance); or, perhaps, you might right a op ed on the topic.
Submissions should be directed to moneduloides at gmail dot com, and will be accepted until December 28th at 10:00pm CST. For the sake of efficiency, please use the following format:
Subject Line: Grand Rounds Submission
E-mail Body:
- Post title
- Post url
- Short description of the post
I look forward to all of the submissions. Happy holidays!
